Inspire Inuit Program Instructor, Part-time
An Exciting Opportunity for instructors who want to engage with Inuit Youth in an innovative Entrepreneurial Leadership Program in partnership with the Canadian Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce (CGLCC) starting in June 2025
Contract Duration: 16-week contract, 30 hours per week
Location: Remote
Salary: Hourly rate of up to $50 per hour
Our small but dedicated team is focused on working towards supporting thriving, sustainable, and vibrant small communities. We do this by invigorating small economies and communities through culturally responsive and locally adapted entrepreneurial training and social innovation initiatives. Small Economy Works, in partnership with the Canadian Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce (CGLCC), is proud to offer Inspire Inuit—a 12-week leadership and social entrepreneurship program designed for Inuit who are part of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community, as well as Inuit allies who support 2SLGBTQIA+ inclusion.
This program supports participants in developing their leadership and workplace skills through connecting to their culture, community, and lived experiences. Through interactive lessons, virtual activities, and assignments focused on real-world problems, participants will pursue their passions, set goals, and create projects to launch creative solutions. Ultimately, the knowledge and skills gained help participants of our programs find employment or start their own business and ignite an entrepreneurial spirit in youth across the country.
We’re looking for a Program Instructor to deliver Inspire Inuit
We are seeking an enthusiastic and inclusive Instructor passionate about helping Inuit Youth achieve personal and professional growth within their communities. Guided by local values and culture, the Instructor will lead participants through a 12-week program focused on entrepreneurial leadership.
The Instructor will:
- Facilitate participant learning through workshop facilitation and mentoring.
- Integrate local knowledge, examples and guest speakers into the program to make it resonate with participants.
- Adapt to participants' unique needs and learning levels.
The Program Instructor is responsible for ensuring that all participants are able to successfully meet the learning objectives of the program and offer an inclusive, engaging and positive learning experience for all program participants.
Pre-program training (early May)
- Participate in initial training course, offered by Small Economy Works and Inspire Nunavut program staff (approx 20 hours)
- Engage in self-directed learning and preparation to review the curriculum and prepare for the program delivery. (approx 20 hours)
Program delivery (June to end of August):
- Lead three weekly workshop sessions, 2 hours each, with participants over a 12 week period
- Lead weekly Drop-In hours (1 hrs per week)
- Provide regular feedback to participants on portfolio assignments and discussion board posts
- Offer bi-weekly 1x2x1 check-ins with program participants
- Respond to participant needs and learning styles, including adjusting instruction of program materials and developing creative ways to continually engage participants
- Work with organization to build new learning strategies and redesign program materials as required
- Communicate regularly with program coordinators, managers and Directors
- Participate in weekly program meetings with Inspire Inuit staff to discuss program logistics and curriculum delivery
- Contribute to program evaluation as required

- Experience instructing or facilitating educational programs in Northern Canada or with Indigenous youth across Canada.
- Proven ability to facilitate engaging workshops and discussions that spark participant imagination, problem-solving, and engagement.
- Experience coaching and mentoring youth.
- Demonstrated initiative, enthusiasm, creativity, and flexibility.
- Strong interpersonal skills, compassion, and team spirit.
- Savvy with learning new digital platforms, quick learner
- Proven experience encouraging a culturally appropriate and safe learning environment for participants from communities across Northern Communities
- Priority will be given to Inuit applicants.
- Lived experience as being 2SLGBTQIA+ is considered a strong asset. We encourage applicants to acknowledge their lived experience in their application.

Compensation
$40.00 - $50.00 per hour
